Mihai-Claudiu GAVRILESCU, PhD, is an Assistant Lecturer and Researcher at the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations (SNSPA, Romania), where he teaches seminar courses in Mass Media and Society, Digital Media Communication, and Communication Theory. He is also a Java and Python programmer, active in Data Science and Social Data Science, and a Postdoctoral Fellow, through the CIVICA Alliance, at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy). His research interests revolve around media artifacts and their capacity to reimagine reality, with a particular focus on parasocial relationships in the digital age (examined through qualitative and quantitative methods applied to interactions with conversational agents), as well as on the pathologies of communicative hyperstimulation, such as information anxiety, cognitive overload, digital burnout, doomscrolling, hypersensitivity to ghosting, digital dissociation, and cyberhoarding – especially as experienced by younger generations.
