Andreea Mitan holds a PhD in communication sciences with the thesis Popular culture and Youth Identity in the Digital Age. Music Preferences and Identity Profiles of Romanian Students(2014). Currently she is working as a teaching assistant at the College of Management at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest (NUPSPA). Also, she is a reseacher at the Center for Research in Management and Leadership at NUPSPA and she serves as editorial assistant for Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy academic review. She coordinates the Masters Programme in Brand Management and Corporate Communication at the College of Communication and Public Relations (NUPSPA) and she coordinates the Marketing & PR compartiment at the College of Management (NUPSPA, www.facultateademanagement.ro).  Popular music and music marketing are the two domains Andreea is passionate about. This is the reason why she focuses her research towards investigating music marketing practices used worldwide. Her work is also dedicated to understanding the particularities of the digital natives and generation Y members as consumers of cultural products. In addition to this, she is interested by the innovative uses of social media in marketing contexts. Thus, her publications can be both related to marketing and to cultural studies.
